Vegetables are high in fiber and are some of the most filling low-calorie foods you can eat. You have to chew vegetables, which takes longer than slurping down soft foods like yogurt. They take longer to eat, and this gives your brain the time it needs to turn off that pesky hunger switch. And once in your stomach, the fiber takes up a lot of space and is digested slowly, making you feel fuller for a longer period of time.
Most vegetables you can eat to your heart's content without fear of putting on excess body fat. If you are not currently a fan of vegetables, make a point of trying new varieties and adding extra flavor with herbs and spices.
